This tool calculates the frequency of an electromagnetic wave given its wavelength. I also works reverse to calculate wavelength given frequency. The results apply to a plane wave propagating in free space, where frequency and wavelength follow:

$$f = \frac{v_p}{\lambda}$$

where: $f$ is frequency, $\lambda$ is wavelength, and $v_p$ is phase velocity. In free space / vacuum, $v_p$ is 299,792,458 meters per second.

Instructions

To calculate the wavelength corresponding to a particular frequency, enter the frequency in the frequency field. The resulting wavelength will appear in the wavelength field.

For calculating frequency, enter your wavelength value in the wavelength field. The resulting frequency will appear in the frequency field.
